5 Easy Baking Hacks for Beginners

If you are one of those people who feel like whipping up something every time you see a dessert reel on Instagram. These tips will come in handy for you, check it out!

1. Recipe writing order

While writing down recipes, always club dry ingredients together and wet ingredients together.  This helps in saving time while measuring and you also tend to not miss anything while making the recipe.

2. Use ingredients at room temperature

Unless your recipe calls for any hot or cold ingredient specifically; use all ingredients at room temperature. This helps in better emulsification of the ingredients to achieve a homogenous batter and hence ensures perfect baking every time!

3. Misa-en-place

Misa-en-place is a French kitchen phrase that means "putting in place" or "gathering".

The first step is to weigh all your ingredients and put them aside before mixing and making the batter/dough.

Doing this every time helps in avoiding any mistakes during the process.

4. Always preheat your oven

Preheat your oven for approximately 10 minutes at the required temperature before putting in your product for baking. Preheating is important so that your product starts cooking uniformly at the desired temperature as soon as it gets in the oven.

5. Not all YouTube recipes turn out perfect

Any random baking recipe on YouTube will not always land in your favor. Always have a look at the comments section before trying out the recipe. Soon you will learn baking ratios and will be able to gauge a recipe by looking at it and will know if this will give you the desired result.

Another bonus tip is- Patience. The only skill that will help you sustain your baking journey is patience. When I baked my first ever brownie, it did not turn out like a normal brownie and I legit cried my eyes out thinking how will I ever be able to do it? A few years later, here I am telling you baking secrets!

So just hang in there and keep trying with patience.

Happy baking!
